Greetings!

This Sunday is the Super Bowl, and based on sales from year’s past…..Rockin’ Robin’s will be open from 12-3 pm only, so you can get started making your pigs in a blanket a little earlier….but if you need something special to wear to your super bowl party…c’mon in early!

Niwot Happenings: 1st Fridays in Niwot are starting to catch on! What started as a monthly art opening at Osmosis Gallery has spread around old town and Cottonwood Square and now there are lots of participating businesses offering local art, music, refreshments and art activities for the family. This Friday, 2/5, Rockin' Robin's will be joining the fray and be open till 8 pm. There will be a trunk show from Sassy Lady Costume and Vintage Jewelry, as well as mini-foot reflexology sessions with Karen McMeans, the Foot Lady. $10 for 10 minutes will give your feet a big smile, and 10% off purchases in my store that night. Wine will be served.

Before I get to the music happenings this weekend, I just have to report on all the bands I saw last weekend….I started at the Eagle Grill for a classic rock set with the 11th Hour, then hopped over to Oskar’s to catch a blues set with Randall Dubis. Saturday night, I joined what felt like 1,000 people at Herman’s Hideaway to see the Informants destroy the joint! Highlight was when Miss Orchid Mei performed a Burlesque number while the Informants performed “Please Mr. Jailer”.  And yes, there are pictures…of all of this….on the slide show this week. That should tempt you to view all the pics of new clothes…the thought of Orchid Mei without any.

Clothes: WOW..a LOT of clothes came in since I saw you last….one consignor raided her linen closet…as in I took in 20 different linen blouses, all sizes and mostly spring colors. My cowboy boots runneth over including two red pair (sizes 6 ˝ and 7), and a black and white air of Durango’s, size 8 ˝.  The shoe area is full, lots of men’s shirts came in including about 20 western style. Oh, and the vintage dresses! Including a Lily Anne spring suit. My favorites are all on today’s slide show, along with those pics I promised earlier of the Informants show last week.

Band of the Week Video:  Since the Informants killed the house at Herman’s last weekend, and they just won the International Blue Challenge for best CD for Crime Scene Queen, they are the band of the week performing the title song of that CD…..’Crime Scene Queen”. Enjoy.

Comment of the Week: Came at the same show at Herman's when after the Informants finished their show, Johnny, the kilt wearing sax player picked me up and gave me a big bear hug. I said, "you make me feel so special," to which he said, "You ARE special...you're ROCKIN' ROBIN!". Gotta love that.
