Greetings!                                                                9-04-08

Niwot Happenings: This Sat. Sept. 6th--is our biggest festival all year....Niwot Nostalgia Day....starts with a pancake breakfast, parade, live music, vendors, a quilt show...and concludes from 7 to 10 in Cottonwood Square with the Fab 4.

Website update: I was just checking some of the many videos on the website and was pleasantly surprised at how many times some of them viewed.....two of them...have been viewed nearly 500 times!! And I'm flattered to say they both were ones of me sitting in with other bands (Girls on Top! and Lionel Young). Anyway...if you're a band....get some video and upload it! The site is now getting close to 2000 hits per month and it just keeps growing!

Clothes of Note: Homecoming is the first big dance of the school year and I've got lots of wonderful cocktail dresses and formals.  Sweaters and jackets are starting to fill the racks as well. Had a visit from a consigner this week who is an artist and she had some gorgeous outfits she wore to art openings...3 are pictured today...and some great jeans, purses, shoes...lots of men's cowboy boots....and jewelry!

 Music Happenings this weekend:

Thursday, Sept. 4th.:  The Fabulous Erica Brown comes to Niwot's Rhythm on the Rails. Next week is our last concert of the season with the amazing a cappella group, FACE. And be sure to check out today's pics that include pictures from last week's concert with the Strolling Scones. In spite of the fact that they were competing with some big speech in Denver....we had a huge crowd here last week and about 15% of them dressed up in 60's attire helping make it once again, a fantastic night!  Also on Thursday night, the Jack Hadley Band is at the Boulder Outlook.

Band of the Week video: Lots of you know of Lewis and Floorwax..morning DJ's on the Fox 103.5...and you probably know they have a band....the Groove Hawgs, who are playing this Friday night in Longmont at the Oktoberfest. But did you know the Groove Hawgs have opened for major acts at Red Rocks more than any other local band? 11 times, thank you. And they opened at the Pepsi Center for....are you ready? The Who. Just a little band really. These shock jocks have surrounded themselves with some seriously talented musicians including two of the best guitarists in the biz. So I found a video featuring both Michael Hornbuckle and Johnny Vaughn from when the Groove Hawgs played Thunder in the Rockies last year. Enjoy!
